Slowed Development in Derby

Who do you think should take responsibility for the slow progress in Downtown Derby. Obviously things have moved faster then in recent years, but are they fast enough.

On a side note, at what point does th Mayor use eminent domain?

What do you consider 'slow' development?? This new administrsation has been in office for 1 year and the building are almost all down, and the area cleaned.

The post is referring to an artile from the CT POST, in the article it talks about how things are not on schedule.

The author also points ut that things are faster then they have been, but i am sure the city knows that after those buildings come down we will be in a standstill over the poperties that still remain in private hands.

I don't think Tony takes any property during an election year.

What article?

Are you referring to a 'Letter to the Editor'? If so, that is someones opinion, not a factual article.

I think Tony has some serious problems, the school and the downtown....it will be intresting what he runs on, i hope that Derby will be just as patiant with Tony as they were with Marc...

I think the school is more of a BOE problem than a Tony problem. The City doesnt have much say in the way the BOE spends their money.

As far as downtown, I think Tony is doing the best he could with Marcs developer and contract. With no transition help from the previous administration, (and shredded documents) I think having the buildings down, and buying 2 properties, is a great first step in his first year.

If Tony runs on all the things he accomplished, he will do fine.
